Lago Mar is a beautiful Country Club community located in West Plantation, a suburb of Fort Lauderdale, Florida.  Our community consists of 98 custom-built homes and 27 condominiums in two lodges which are adjacent to the Lago Mar Country Club. Many of our homes overlook the golf course and no two homes are alike.

Lago Mar has a 24-hour manned guard gate and beautifully landscaped common areas throughout the neighborhood including streets lined with a mature tree canopy and a central park with a gazebo that is used for special community events throughout the year.

Lago Mar was developed in the early 70's by the Walter Banks family, simultaneously with the the Lago Mar Country Club, a private member-owned Country Club with championship golf and tennis facilities.  The Club also boasts a beautiful clubhouse with casual and formal dining facilities.  All home buyers in Lago Mar must apply for and maintain at least a social membership with the Club.

Lago Mar is conveniently located and is within a short drive to numerous highways including I-595, I-75, the Florida Turnpike, I-95 and the Sawgrass Expressway.  Downtown Fort Lauderdale and the Fort Lauderdale Airport are about 15 minutes away and downtown Miami is about a 35 minute drive.  The Sawgrass Mills Mall with numerous restaurants, shops and movies and the Bank Atlantic Center, home to the NHL's Florida Panthers and numerous concerts and other entertainment shows, are 5 minutes away.  The "A" rated Sawgrass Elementary School is a mile away and the private American Heritage School (pre-k through high school) is within walking distance.
